梁祖德

梁祖德(1918-2008)出生于广东,上中学期间就加入了广州红窗摄影研究社,并在上海《飞鹰》杂志发表了《大众齐血汗》等作品。1940年7月,从国立中山大学工学院化学工程学系毕业。

1941年到昆明,后任昆明大学造纸厂厂长。那一时期,以未婚妻卓水琼为模特创作了一系列美女人像并入选国际摄影沙龙。其中亲自手工着色大尺寸展览原始原作保存至今。抗战胜利后梁祖德回到广州,同年拍摄的代表作品《祷》后入选十七个国家的国际摄影沙龙,并刊于六个国家的摄影年鉴上,这些摄影沙龙和年鉴上选用发表了早期中国摄影大师郎静山,张印泉,蔡俊三,陈万里等人的早期代表作。

1946年任广州德记照相器材行经理和广州著名的艳芳照相经理。同年,刘体志、梁祖德等人以红窗社为前身,创立了广州摄影学会,刘体志为会长,梁祖德任常务会长,驻会从事学会的日常工作。同时经营广州著名的“德记照相器材行”。学会的联络地址便设在广州惠爱中路开办的“德记照相器材行”。

1956年,公私合营后持有广州德记照相行、艳芳照相等多家器材行和照相馆的股份,直至1966年。1956年,梁祖德同时调任中国新闻社广东分社摄影组组长。同年12月,梁祖德加入中国摄影学会,并参加在北京召开的成立大会,成为新中国第一批摄影家。

梁祖德从事摄影创作六十多年,入选、获奖国际摄影沙龙摄影作品数十幅,有美国费城国际摄影沙龙、西雅图国际摄影沙龙、古巴国际摄影沙龙等;《制面者》载入1951年伦敦艾利夫父子出版公司(Iliffe and Sons London)出版的《国际摄影年鉴(Photograms of the Year 1951)》。1957年至1965年的九届全国摄影艺术展览,除第七届外,其他八届他均有作品参展,共二十余幅。

梁祖德生前留下了两百多幅原始原作和早期原作。这些作品除一些小样外,大都为四十至六十年代的参展作品。其中解放前参与国际摄影沙龙的早期原作是极其珍贵的摄影文物。五六十年代放大的参与全国影展的作品也是中国摄影史上的重要原作。此外,他从上世纪三十年代开始拍摄广东各地,留下了一千多张120底片,这些底片记录了广东及全国各方面的内容。

梁祖德是上世纪四十年代至七十年代广东摄影的一面旗帜,被后人称为“岭南摄影大师”。

黄建鹏画廊收藏了上百幅梁祖德先生1940-1970年代拍摄、洗印的早期大尺寸原始原作及展览原作。
 

CHO-TAK LEUNG

 

CHO-TAK LEUNG(1918-2008)was born in Guangdong. He was enrolled in Red Window photographic research society. He published numerous images on Eagle Magazine in Shanghai. In July 1940 he was graduated from College of Engineering, National Sun Yat-sen University, and majoring chemistry.

In 1941 he moved to Kunming and became the president of paper mill of Kunmin. There his wife Zhuo Shuiqiong was his model. Some of those large scale hand-painted photographs were selected by International Photography Salon. The work titled Pray was selected into seventeen International Photography Salons and published on six International Photograms of the Year.

In 1946 he was the manager of the famous Tak Kee photo shop in Guangzhou. Tizhi Liu and he founded Guangzhou Photography Association which is based on Red Window photographic research society. Tizhi Liu was the president. He was the vice president. The address of Guangzhou Photography Association was located on Hui Ai Middle Avenue.

In 1957 he worked as department manager in China News, Guangzhou Branch. He was one of the first members of China Photography Institute, which held the first meeting in Beijing in the same year.

His works has been selected to various international salons including Photographic Society of Philadelphia, Seattle Photographic Society and Camera Club International,Cuba. The Noodle Maker was selected in Photograms of the Year 1951 published by Iliffe and Sons London in his sixty years endeavor in photography. More than twenty works were exhibited in every National Photographic Art Exhibitions from 1957 to 1965 except the seventh.

Cho-Tak Leung had left us approximately two hundred vintage prints and negatives. Among those are works mostly from 1940s to 1960s. The early vintage prints are exclusively precious photographic artifacts since they are from the period before the establishment of the PRC. His works from the fifties are important photographic historical records of China. Cho-Tak Leung photographed various events happening in Guangzhou in 1930s, which can be seen from his thousands of 120 negatives.

He was also a representative figure in Lingnan(Guangdong)photography from 1940s to 1970s.
Huang Jianpeng Gallery has collected tens of Cho-Tak Leung's early large scale vintage prints and exhibition prints.
